Problem

“How might we make a seamless and quicker process for the consumer paying for their grocery?”

Goal

To make an interaction between the customers and Point of Sale (POS) screen as smooth as possible.

  • Find usability issues and their potential solutions

  • Gather comparative appeal quotient with the competitive stores screens, such as Walmart and Walgreens

  • Evaluate what is working; what needs improvement; what are the missing features

  • Understand the expectations and needs of the Customer from that interaction

  • Analyze the complete user experience, from selecting the shoppers club card to swiping/inserting a card

  • Identify the cues that convey quality of the product and interactions

Prototype

  • I made a HiFi prototype in Axure pro 8 with a complete workflow which is used by Wegmans for the demonstration to the management team.

  • It will also be used for the future reference.

  • See below one workflow of a user using his debit card for the payment.
